Michael became pastor of PGBC in 1988. At age 16, he felt God calling him to preach. He attended Gardner Webb University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has an incredible passion for evangelism and missions; has served as a Trustee with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Michael is married to his beloved wife, Teresa, and they have two precious daughters: Shannon and Shelley. They have three terrific grandchildren and another one on the way! Michael and Teresa were also foster parents and have kept 51 babies!

Michael's hobbies include woodworking, refinishing antiques, sports, cooking for large groups, and family events.
