ALICIA'S MINISTRY There are multitudes of people who believe in the message of the gospel, but it takes a
special gift to passionately articulate God's truth in a way that truly impacts lives. Alicia has that ability.
"The heart of our ministry is the Word of God. God has given us music to open the heart
and His infallible Word to fill the heart and change a life. "Worship, in its total essence is a response to the truth, not a reaction to circumstances," says Alicia.
Blending articulate communication with heartfelt emotion, Alicia reaches her audiences
with a clear knowledge of the gospel and a genuine desire to see lives changed by the Lord Jesus Christ.
Alicia started in fulltime ministry in 1993 as a songwriter and worship artist, leading
congregations in a powerful corporate worship experience. Today, Alicia is also a prominent Bible teacher, keynote speaker in sacred and secular venues, and television
host.
"As I have quieted myself and have purposely set aside time to
study the Word of God, He has opened doors for me that I could have never opened for myself," Alicia explains. Some of these
opportunities include ministry with Kay Arthur and Precept Ministries, The Center for Worship at Liberty University, The
Center for Performing Arts at the University of Mobile, Women of Faith, The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, INSP, CBN, TBN,
In Touch with Charles Stanley, Gaither Homecoming, and many more.
As a faculty member at the Center for Worship at Liberty
University, Alicia served as an instructor of Old and New Testament Principles of Worship and Creative Worship. At the
University of Mobile, Alicia developed Commercial Voice Studies, which included a master class in commercial voice as well as
private instruction in Commercial Voice. Alicia also served as Artist-in-Residence at Thomas Road Baptist Church.
A native of Florence, S.C., Alicia began singing in the church at
age 5. When she was 7, she trusted Jesus as her Lord and Savior
while listening to her father's first sermon. Alicia graduated from Winthrop College in Rock Hill, S.C., with a Bachelor of Music Degree in
Vocal Performance. After college she traveled six years with the contemporary Christian group TRUTH, where she first recorded her signature song, "There Is a Hope."
Alicia is married to Richard Garcia, from New York and the fabulous Brooklyn Tabernacle and choir. They have two sons, Michael
Chandler and Richard "David". Mobile, AL is their home.
