God's Call to Prayer Ministry

"A Praying Church" is one of the main purposes of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church. The Prayer Ministry has taken different shapes through the years. We truly believe that the blessings and favor of God upon our church have been because of those who faithfully intercede for this church. Our Prayer Ministry, "God's Call to Prayer Ministry" is our most vital church ministry.   All that God does, He does in answer to prayer.  Below is a listing of our prayer teams and a link to request prayer.

Prayer Ministry Statement of Purpose:
To lead and teach the church family to pray, seek His power, protection and provision, pursue personal holiness, and follow His leadership

In God's Word it says,

"Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." (Matthew 7:7-8)

A priority of the staff and people of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church is to be known as a "House of Prayer."

"...These I will bring to My Holy mountain and give them joy in My "House of Prayer." Isaiah 56:7(NIV)

As a "House of Prayer" we will be in prayer for Pleasant Garden Baptist Church, the church staff, the ministries of the church and for the church body.

We will pray for the community, for the county, for the state, for our nation and the world.

A Prayer ministry is important because we are taught to pray and ask God for His power to be displayed. The disciples observed prayer in the life of Jesus and they asked Him to teach them to pray.

Our Pastor believes a good way to bring our church family together in prayer is to offer different ways to come together to pray and to be taught about prayer.

Prayer guides created by the Pastor and staff will be available to each participant in God's 400 Prayer Ministry.

The prayer guides will be updated quarterly and as the needs change.

There are several ways to participate in the Prayer Ministry. You may participate on one or more Prayer Teams.

The Prayer Ministry of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church is called God's Call to Prayer Ministry and is modeled after the 10 prayer models that are evident throughout the 28 chapters of Acts…

These 10 prayer models made up the disciple's corporate prayer life.

The disciples had established places and times of prayer.
They prayed for leaders,
They saw prayer as a ministry,
They engaged in various types of corporate prayer,
They often prayed in homes,
They prayed as they walked,
They were open to praying at any time and any place,
They frequently fasted and prayed,
They prayed before they worshipped or preached
They prayed authoritatively against evil.

Thank you for taking time to read about the Prayer Ministry of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church.

Pray about where God would have you become a praying member of a team.
